Ingredients for making Medu Wada Recipe
- 2 cups of split black gram (Urad dal)
- 2 spoons of Fenugreek Seeds (Methi dana)
- Salt for taste (Namak)
- Coriander leaves (Dhaniya)
- 2 Chopped Green Chillies (Mirchi)
- 1 table spoon of Ajwain
- 1 table spoon of Cumin Seeds (jira)
- Oil for deep fry
Instructions for making Medu Wada Recipe
- Soak black gram and Fenugreek seeds for 5-6 hours in a water.
- Make a batter - Grind the soaked black gram in a mixer until it becomes fine grained. (Do not use water when grinding)
- Transfer a batter in a big bowl.
- Add salt, Coriander leaves, chopped green chillies, Ajwain and Cumin Seeds in to the batter and mix it well.
- Take a cold water in a bowl.
- Heat the oil.
- Grab some amount of batter with wet hand and make a medu wada in a round shape and make a hole in the center.
- Place the medu wada in the oil slowly and deep fry until medu wada turns brown in colour.
- Take out the medu wada from pan and serve it with green chutney, tomato sauce and sambar.
